Senior Mathematical Challenge

Congratulations to the Year 11 and Year 12 students who recently took part in the Senior Mathematical Challenge.

The Senior Mathematical Challenge is a 90-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

The problems on the Senior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

The academy had a successful cohort with over half earning a certificate.

(L-R) Phoebe Johnston, Corey Smith and Katie Winn earned a bronze certificate, while Jemma Atkinson earned silver and Eva Doyle earned silver and best in year.

Luke Williams (L) and Rebekah Hall (R) earned bronze, with Matthew Charlton scoring highest overall, earning a silver certificate, best in year and best in school.

Congratulations to them all and to all who entered.
