Health & Social Care PEARSON BTEC LEVEL 3 HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE Specific entry requirements At least 5 GCSE passes at grades 9-5 (minimum grade 4s in English and science). At least a 5/Merit in health and social care if taken at GCSE. Content of the course BTEC National Extended Certificate (one A Level equivalent): This Level 3 qualification consists of three core units plus three optional specialist units that you will study over two years. The units you will studyare: • Developing Effective Communication • Equality, Diversity & Rights • Health, Safety & Security • Development through Life Stages • Anatomy & Physiology • Sociological & Psychological Perspectives During the course you will complete two weeks in a work based placement, these range fromsettings such as hospitals and residential care homes to primary schools.
