Special Needs

The Academy has a highly effective Learning Support department. Students with special educational needs follow an Individual Education Plan which will ensure that they make appropriate progress and achieve well. The support provided will enable them to access the curriculum and other activities. Some students may need to be withdrawn to work individually or in small groups, on occasion, as part of a comprehensive programme. Colleagues from the Learning Support Department attend Annual Review meetings in Year 6 in the primary schools and facilitate additional activities to help students during the transition process.
