Community

At the heart of the Academy’s philosophy is partnership – between staff and students, staff and parents, between the school and community, and between parents and students.

This is an exciting time to be part of the Academy. Our building programme, offering wonderful and educationally attractive facilities in all subjects will shortly be completed. The government and sponsors have invested over £25m to help establish and develop West Lakes Academy.

A good school is not just about excellent buildings, state of the art facilities and a smart new uniform. What is more important is the spirit of community, educational purpose and the values that run through all we do in pursuit of the highest academic standards.

High quality new and refurbished buildings improve motivation; raise student and staff morale and boost confidence. Combined with our new curriculum and the modern approaches to learning which characterise the Academy, we are confident students will achieve their potential and academic results will continue to improve.

West Lakes Academy is an ordered, purposeful and encouraging environment where young people can develop intellectually, physically, spiritually and emotionally. The Academy will not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, belief, culture, gender, sexual orientation or background. The Academy had a legal duty to promote equal opportunities and community cohesion.
