Over the past three years West Lakes Academy has embedded an exciting e-learning strategy, using individual iPads, to provide children with immediate, handheld access to multiple opportunities to learn. We have improved the exciting way we teach by using technology in and out of the classroom and we have done this to support the needs of each individual student and encourage the development of their computing skills.
We have developed this strategy because it’s a fact that children with good home access to IT and learning resources are much more likely to gain higher grades.
We are holding an Open Evening for new Year 7 students and their parents/carers to introduce the iPad scheme and to gain your support for this vital strategy. We hope that you will be able to join us on Tuesday 23rd May 2017 where we will be running two sessions (5.00 to 5.20 pm and 5.30 to 5.50 pm) and would be grateful if you would indicate on the reply slip enclosed with your letter which session you will be attending.
There will be a presentation explaining how the scheme works and what support we need from parents to make it happen. We want to provide our students with the best opportunities to reach their full potential, and encourage all parents to attend in order to find out more about how we can work together to give all your children the best possible opportunity to succeed.
