Learning Support Assistants

We currently require 2 full time Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team.

We require 1 permanent post to start in April 2018 and 1 temporary post to cover Maternity Leave which starts in March 2018.

Both posts are term time only, 40 weeks per year, 37 hours per week. Starting salary £15,813 pa with potential to progress to £17,503 pa (fte £17,799 to £19,706).

You will work with identified SEN students, including one-to-one support and guidance, to remove barriers to learning. You will promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, and raise aspirations to help them achieve their full potential. You will also play a key role in supporting teaching colleagues.

Essential requirements include:

  • Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of pupils.
  • An understanding of principles of child development and learning processes.

Experience of working with pupils of relevant age in a school setting is desirable.
