Adult Education

We extend a warm invitation to join us at our state of the art academy, an exciting opportunity to indulge in and enjoy a new learning experience in this flagship building for the west area.

The programme has been developed with the aim of delivering learning opportunities to meet the needs of our community, whatever your ability, interest or skill. Whatever course you choose you will receive advice, support, guidance and professional tuition from a dedicated team of staff and tutors.

We have a range of leisure courses, accredited ICT and GCSEs, to improve skills and employability. Courses take place at the academy and also in a number of outreach venues in the local area.

The centre is situated at West Lakes Academy in Egremont, on Main Street. We also use various outreach venues for our courses. These include the De Lucy Centre in Egremont, Phoenix Enterprise Centre at Cleator Moor, St Mary’s and St Michael’s Church Hall in Egremont.

For both Maths and English we determine the correct course for you by asking you to complete an initial assessment. The aim of this is to assess your skills. We offer functional skills and GCSE in Maths.
